Things That Can and Cannot be Said , released on 5 Aug 2016
In the winter of 2014, Arundhati Roy met Edward Snowden, along with the actor and writer John Cusack and Daniel Ellsberg, the Snowden of the 1960s. Their conversations touched on some of the great themes of our times – the nature of the state, surveillance in an era of perpetual war and the meaning of patriotism. Disturbing, powerful and provocative, this is an extraordinary work.
Arundhati Roy was born on 1961 in Kerela. A well celebrated author in her own right, she won The Booker Prize for her famed book, 'The God of Small Things' in 1997. Besides being an author, Arundhati Roy is a well known peace activist and was awarded the Sydney Peace Prize in May 2004 for her work in social campaigns. She is also an extremely vocal advocate of non-violence.
