The Taj Conspiracy is an interesting thriller that keeps its readers on the edge. It is a work of fiction that deals with the age old battle between Hindus and Muslims in India. The story is aptly woven and characterised in order to maintain the the fast story pace.

The story is woven around the Taj Mahal and a conspiracy to fake the history of the monument. The Quranic inscriptions at the tomb are altered to prove that it is a Hindu monument. Such a revelation would make the historical monument a contentious point between the two major religious factions of the country.

The protagonist of the novel is Mehrunnisa, a Mughal scholar who accidentally stumbles upon the conspiracy and tries to solve it with her strong will. Mehrunnisa comes from Persian ancestry and her attempts to unravel the mystery only takes her deeper into it. The story involves Hindu extremists and a developing terror attack by Islamic extremists. The characters, with their various moods and moves, make the story thrilling. The Taj Conspiracy is available in paperback format and was published by Westland Limited in 2012
