Emma
Emma, published in 1816, is the story of self-deception in Emma Woodhouse, an intelligent young woman, who believes she can manage other people's lives better than she does her own. In this attempt, she nearly messes up the life of her protege, young Harriet Smith. All, however, ends well.
Jane Austen (1775-1817) was born at Stevenson, Hampshire. Author of classics like Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Emma, she is one of the most frequently re-read authors of English Literature who provided new dimensions to literary style and narrative art.
