A collection of crime thrillers from Tapan Bandopadhay

Born in 1947, Tapan Bandyopadhyay, saw the light of this world as a refugee from the then East Bengal, was brought up in a small hut on the bank of Ichhamati river and after completing the school-studies, he came to Calcutta to study in the college and the university, earned a first class degree in Pure Mathematics.

He then acted as a teacher in a higher secondary school for seven months, and then joined in nationalised bank as a clerk. After serving there for two years, he joined in the state service in 1972, and retired in June, 2007 as Special Secretary & ex-officio Director of Culture, Govt of West Bengal. Later on he was re-employed as Secretary, Shishu Kishore Akademy He started his literary career as ap poet, but ultimately got success as a short story writer and novelist. So far he has published about fifty novels including ten for the children and juveniles, nearly three hundred short stories and eight books of poems.

He was awarded ' Bankim Smriti Award' the highest award of the State Government in 2002 for his novel Nadi Mati Aranya. Awarded BFJA Award as best story-writer for film 'Mahulbonir Sereng' in 2004 and also got award :-- Sahityasetu Award in 1993, Sopan Award in 1995, Amritallok Award in 2001, Felicitated in Dhaka and Tangail, Bangladesh in 2002, Manjush Dasgupta Award in 2003, Panchajanya Award in 2003 Pratima Smriti Award in 2005, Roygunakar Bharatchandra Award in 2005, Krittibash mefytya Award in 2005, Nityananda Smriti Award in 2005, Sailajananda Smriti Award in 2005, Rupashi Bangla Award in 2009, Tribitta Award in 2010, Dinesh Chandra Smriti Award in 2011, Dwiralap Sahitya Samman from Silchar in 2011, Tarashankar Smriti Award in 20011. Visited Khulna, Rajshahi and Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2000, Dhaka and Tangail, Bangladesh in 2002, Visited Dhaka and Chitagunge, Bangladesg in 2010, Visited Beijing 17th International Bookfair, China as an Indian writer delivered two lectures in 2010.
