The books shows varied and interesting perspectives on modern India and Pakistan. Taken from different issues of Granta, most of the works are personal memories or narratives of reporters' interviews as they explore different topics. Both of the short stories had weak endings, which may be typical oriental fiction but were worth reading for their interesting characters.
